Sitting in my email inbox is my second Wiggio email of the summer.

Sent at 12:00 a.m., Tuesday morning: “Reminder: Editors[[‘]] Meeting”

Yes, the missing apostrophe jumped out at me. As did the fact that, as of today, 11 full days of summer have gone by, so fast, so…effortlessly. Almost two weeks just slipped by as if time would never end and my summer had only begun. So much has happened, yet it feels as if so little has been accomplished.

Two months from tomorrow is the first day of my last year in high school.

My last year in Cupertino.

My last year at home.

My last year at Monta Vista.

But really, enough of this nostalgia. I’ll have enough of it coming at me a year from now, after all my lasts have been had and done and all I’ll have are firsts to look forward to.

Although, this is my last summer before I graduate.

I’m going to make the most of it.

Been M.I.A. for a while.

Well hot damn, Robin Givhan. We know you won a Pulitzer and all, but my jaw straight-up dropped when I read this headline, from Sunday’s Washington Post Style section: “Elena Kagan goes on Supreme Court confirmation offensive in drab D.C. clothes.” Wow! (And is there such a thing as non-drab DC clothes?) But then, there’s the caption, showing Kagan looking perfectly professional, complete with a pair of pearls, next to Sen. Amy Klobuchar: “UNUSUAL: Most women, including Sen. Amy Klobuchar, cross their legs when sitting, but not Kagan.” Double wow.

Please anyone with the basest knowledge of short, chubby legs look at that picture and tell me if you would cross your legs. No, you would not. You crossing leg would be jutting out at a 90 degree angle and then people would be saying even worse things. If I was her I would sit cross-legged and roll my eyes and be like, “What have you done in your life that’s so great?”

And Robin Givhan strikes again — first there was the whole uproar over Hillary Clinton’s cleavage and then, oh no! Michelle Obama is wearing shorts?! In Phoenix, Arizona, in August?! How dare she!

So today I went to Cupertino High School for the IDC Exchange, and besides the fact that Alex FREAKING Iremazde forgot to turn in his form, it was a real eye opener. To my surprise, Tino only has 1,800 kids compared to our fricken 2,400 at MV. My host, Bianca, was so friendly and welcoming and as she took me through her regular high school day, I sort of felt like I was in middle school again (which by no means is an insult). Middle school days were legit :). They were packed with stress-free days, laid-back teachers, and a genuine family feel amongst the student body: The exact impression I received from Tino today. Kids there felt comfortable to express themselves in their own individual way without having to fear acceptance by their peers. Every class I attended seemed so diverse, and the teachers were so…for a lack of a better word: CUTE! I really wonder what it would be like to go to Tino, but then again there are things at Monta Vista that I definitely love and will miss in the future. But it’s amazing how the city of Cupertino can have such a split personality. How you can be raised so differently in this one town. And how much of an impact your high school has on your character.

Well anyways, like they say, the grass is always greener on the other side. Rally next Friday!

Tino was definitely awesome and it was great to see people again after almost three whole years! It was amazing to see the school spirit, instead of just class spirit. I can’t wait to go again next year, and I hope some Tino kids come to the Monta Vista exchange :)

On another note, I need to start writing my own posts and not just reblog off others all the time…

I think a certain frenchman is trying to make a voodoo doll of me, considering the fact that I was unceremoniously robbed of a hair in Mathematics yesterday.

Voodoo dolls wouldn’t be able to stop me even if I did eat cats.

I finally did download Portal yesterday - thank you Steam Support!

Support people are now secretly my heroes.

I need to find a balance between mouse sensitivity and resolution, or else GLADoS starts skipping.

I’m pretty sure GLaDOS isn’t supposed to sound like a broken record - though it does make her mildly more scary and much more annoying.

For future reference: GLaDOS lies.

The last time I played a computer video game before “Portal “was “Neverhood.”

When I tell people that, they look at me in mild disappointment.

Yes, they’re game-savvy people, but I honestly doubt they know what Neverhood is.

Neverhood is the most awesome claymation game to exist. Ever. Trufax.

I enjoy sailboats.

Especially if they have an odd number of sails, and therefore, tilt.

“Aqui’s” is a fantastic restaurant.

Sometimes, my cat sticks her head in the tissue box. I have a moral dilemma when I wonder how long I can enjoy a box-head cat without feeling bad for not helping her get it off her head.

I finally got tips on how to prove to moo that a H-O-O-O molecule can’t exist, and neither should it be called Hydrogen Peroxide.

Can’t wait for Kriti darling, who I’m hosting on Friday.

No one seems to care that our class color for that rally is green.

I wouldn’t have either if it wasn’t for Krits.

There she goes, inspiring school spirit even outside of her own school.

Remind me to tell you anecdotes about Tech Support people later. My father is a treasure trove.

I’m trying to draw things with shapey lines.

I can’t wait for tomorrow either!

I walked to school with losers for the first time, ever. In my three years of going to Monta Vista, my laziness has overcome my care for how big of a carbon footprint I was leaving on the environment. In all honesty, I could care less about how much carbon emissions my car releases into the environment, I drive everywhere. I do, however, care about the people’s lives I’m negatively effecting. I’m not going to kill this planet. Nope. Not me. It’s sad that it look a free breakfast in order for my fat , lazy ass to walk the 3.4 mile walk to school. But, quality heart to hearts with Andrew and Lucia, and the satisfaction of saving the planet one step of a time make it worth it. :) It’s a strange though that by me, just one small insignificant person on this huge planet, walking to school can make a difference. But, it’s like what they say. Change before you have to.

[well, now this post should be titled “Yesterday”]

Surprise, surprise — yesterday was my first time walking to school on a school day. (I’ve walked to school the day after school was let out, to/from j-camp, and just for fun. But never on an actual school day.) It was quite fun and somewhat relaxing (although I’m never walking to school again with a backpack, laptop bag, and three glass jars). I didn’t take Elaine and Daniel up on the offer of driving up to their area and then walking with them (defeating the purpose of Bike/Walk to School Day, you two!) but the alone-ness was quite okay in the end. It only took me about 20 minutes, and the weather was fairly nice, sunny and only a bit chilly.

I think I’ll do that again some day.
